Just one day after the release of the new Impinj M800 IC series, Tageos has launched four new RAIN RFID inlays based on these high-performance chips: EOS-241 M830 and EOS-241 M850 as well as EOS-261 M830 and EOS-261 M850. According to the company, this makes Tageos one of the very first RFID inlay manufacturers to release products based on Impinj’s new generation ICs. While the new inlays feature Tageos’ antenna designs and build on the comprehensive ARC approvals of their Impinj M700 IC-based siblings, they now also combine improved readability and reliability with advanced features – like greater ability to mitigate tag clutter – to better discover, engage, and protect tagged items. The EOS-241 M830 and the EOS-241 M850 combine further enhanced read performance with an ultra-small antenna size (42 x 16 mm) that is appropriate for item-level applications in retail and logistics. Optimized for use on diverse packaging materials, the inlays are expected to comply with ARC specifications F, G, N, O, Q, B1, W2, W5 and W6 and are ideal for inventory management in a wide range of non-food industries including retail apparel, supply chain, logistics, pharmaceutical and healthcare. The EOS-261 M830 and the EOS-261 M850 inlays – like all other members of the EOS-261 product family – excel through exceptional versatility in retail applications, being particularly relevant for ARC W specifications (W1-6) plus several further retail-related specs (B1, F, G, N, O, Q, R, Y). Another advantage of all EOS-261 products is their compact footprint with an antenna size of 44 x 20 mm. In either EOS inlay design, the two members of the Impinj M800 IC series are differentiated by their memory: Impinj M830 comes with 128-bit EPC memory, and Impinj M850 comes with 96-bit EPC and 32-bit user memory. Both new Impinj M800 series ICs combine improved read sensitivity (-1.5 dB), AutoTuneTM performance, and backscatter efficiency with a size reduction compared to the previous generation. The Impinj M830 and M850 ICs are “drop-in” compatible with existing antenna designs, hence will further advance Tageos’ portfolio of Impinj M700-based products. Due to being smaller than the previous IC generation, with a reduced footprint, the Impinj M830 and M850 ICs also strongly support Tageos’ overall sustainability approach of providing highly sustainable, 100% plastic-free inlays and tags. “It’s great to see Tageos, an Impinj Gold Partner, quickly industrializing the superior capabilities of our all-new Impinj M830 and M850 ICs and rapidly bringing compelling new RAIN RFID inlays and tags to the market. I am convinced that this will be another milestone in the long-standing, successful cooperation between our companies,” says Martin Liebl, senior product management director at Impinj. “With our new EOS-241 and EOS-261 RAIN RFID inlays based on the new Impinj M800 IC series, we have once again demonstrated our ability to respond quickly to the latest technical developments and customer requirements. The broad expansion of our global manufacturing capacities with our additional, new sites in the US and China has greatly enhanced our agility and customer focus. As an Impinj Gold Partner, we will continue developing new inlays to make the most of superior RF innovation performance and reduced carbon footprint,” adds Chris Reese, chief technology officer at Tageos. All the new Impinj M800-based EOS-241 and EOS-261 inlays and tags are available in dry, wet, and paper-face delivery formats as of now.
